Relais de la Reine, Isalo National Park

Relais de La Reine is found on a large expanse of land that it shares with its sister property, Le Jardin du Roy, a 20-minute drive from the Isalo National Park. Beautifully styled and with excellent facilities, there are 30 rooms in total, with five large “cottages” housing five bedrooms each. All of the rooms are similar in layout and feel, with stone floors to keep them cool, verandas or balconies looking out to the granite hillside behind the hotel and spacious en-suite bathrooms. The situation of the rooms means that they tend to stay nice and cool, but the luxury rooms also come with air conditioning. The main part of the lodge is a multi-level lounge, reception, bar and dining area where a variety of dishes are served, including Malagasy and French-influenced plates. The swimming pool has a number of shaded areas around it where guests can relax in the afternoons and enjoy the beautiful views. Things to keep you occupied at the lodge include easy access to the Isalo National park, a tennis court on-site, easy access to walking trails and large stables with 12 horses.
